Psychology of the Grotesque
Visual Design, Animation, 3D Modeling

Ease In Studios created the animation and the character’s 3D model for the song Psychology of the Grotesque.
The song explores how people often feel pressured to conform, suppressing their true selves to appear “normal” to others, like puppets controlled by society. In doing so, they lose their innocence, uniqueness, and imagination. The song encourages listeners to keep their individuality and creativity, even if others may view them as “peculiar.”

Visually, the animation blends whimsical and dark elements. In the first half, the animals in a young boy’s mind transform into various faces as he absorbs outside influences, reflecting an inner struggle. The second half shifts to imaginative, surreal imagery, representing the liberation of his true self.
Alongside the animation, real-time interactive technology was integrated. In the latter part of the performance, to emphasize the theme of breaking free from societal constraints and embracing individuality, live footage of the singer was processed in real time and combined with the animation created by Ease In Studios.
